Minecraft

Minecraft is a wonderfully coded, very addicting multiplayer/single player game. Everything is made of blocks, too. This will tell you about the aspects, items, and more about the game.
GOALS:
There are two game modes, two of them having the same objective. Survival Mode is when the goal is to survive, mine for ores, and gather resources. To finish/win the game you must find and restore a portal to The End and defeat the Ender Dragon. In Creative Mode, you have infinite resources and the ability to fly. You cannot die except from falling off the bottom of the map. People often use this to build huge structures and experiment with items that would otherwise be impossible to obtain in survival mode.
WORLD TYPES:
There are three world types: Normal, Superflat, and Large Biomes. Normal is the normal world, with caves, ores, hills, and forest. Superflat is a world when there are three layers of dirt and then bedrock, which is indestructible, except in creative mode. There are no caves, ores, or hills that spawn. The only things that spawn are animals, monsters, and villages. Large Biomes is when there are larger world parts. For example, a normal sized Hills Biome in a Large Biomes world type is about twice the size of a regular Hills Biome.
MOBS:
The term "mob" refers to any living creature in the game. The current mobs in the game are Chickens, Ocelots (cats,) Dogs, Pigs, Sheep, Cows, Villagers, Squid, Snow Golems, Iron Golems, Ghasts, Silverfish, Slimes, Magma Cubes, Spiders, Cave Spiders, Blazes, Creepers, Zombies, Skeleton, Zombie Pigmen, and Endermen.
ITEMS:
There are also a large amount of items. They are:
Materials:
Apples, Gunpowder, Feathers, Wheat, String, etc.
Mining:
Coal, Iron, Gold, Redstone, Lapis Lazuli, Diamonds, Cobblestone, etc.
Tools:
Sword (Fighting,) Shovel (Digging,) Pickaxe (Mining,) Axe (Wood,) and Hoe (Plowing for Farmland.)
These tools can be made of wood, stone, iron, gold, or even diamond, which is very hard to get. Wooden tools are the worst, and diamond tools are the best. The most common tools are stone and iron tools, as these resources are not that hard to obtain. Bows are also used for fighting and shoot arrows, which are made with flint, sticks, and feathers. Bows require string and sticks to make.
ARMOR:
Armor is a wearable item that protects the player and decreases any damage that the player takes. There are four types of armor that you can make: Helmets, Chestplates, Leggings/Pants, and Boots. These can be made of leather, chain-mail, iron, gold, or diamond.
ENCHANTING:
The items you can enchant in Minecraft are: Picks, Shovels, Axes, Swords, Bows, and Armor. You cannot enchant blocks or food.
FARMING:
Farming is a way to get food and resources with an unlimited supply in Minecraft. For example, Wheat farming is a way to get as much wheat as you want, but you have to wait for the wheat to grow. You can also use bone meal, which will grow the wheat instantly. Wheat can be used to make bread, cake, and cookies and is an item. Other Farm-able Items Include: Mobs, Nether Warts, Cocoa Beans, Cacti, Sugar Canes, Pumpkins, Melons, Doors, Vines, and Trees.
BLOCKS:
There are so many blocks in the game that I cannot list them all in text, but here are some. Indestructible blocks cannot be broken, only in creative mode. These include Portal, End Portal Frame, and Bedrock. Below are all the blocks in a picture:
As you can see, there are a lot of blocks. Also the 1.4.2 update came out on Oct. 25, 2012, which added new blocks, such as Anvils, Beacons, and Item Frames. There will also be new Mobs: The Witch, The Wither, The Wither Skeleton, and The Bat. In the next update, there will probably be even more!
Because of all the fun and things possible in Minecraft, I give it a 10/10!
